Rusty Harpe Memorial Race at Caraway on July 2nd

Winston-Salem, NC: The second annual Rusty Harpe Memorial Race will take place on Wednesday, July 2 nd at Caraway Speedway in Asheboro, NC. The first race was held last year on July 4 th in memory of Late Model Racer Rusty Harpe who lost his life to a farming accident in January of 2007. Harpe drove the #71 Late Model car at Asheboro and other local area tracks.

Chip Harpe and the Harpe family and friends have joined with MediaFit Inc. in an effort to help grow this race into a premier Late Model Racing Event.

“We are glad that Chip asked us to be a part of this event,” said Melissa Lynes, Assistant Manager, Sport Marketing and Public Relations for MediaFit. “Everyone is working hard to make sure this event is bigger and better than last year.”

Plans have already been set in place for the race night. It will consist of a 200 lap LMSC race along with a tentative 50 lap non qualifier race and a 100 lap truck race.

Lap sponsorships have already begun being sold. They are selling again for $100 this year. $50 of that will go towards the late model purse and the other half will pay for two special hospitality passes and two tickets to the race for the sponsor.
